Second Quarterly Edition of our Newsletter

*Dear Esteemed Readers,*

On behalf of the Ambassador and the entire team of the Embassy of the Republic of Sierra Leone to Switzerland and Permanent Mission to the United Nations and other International Organizations in Geneva, we are pleased to welcome you to the Second Quarterly Edition of our Newsletter.

This edition covers the period April to June 2026 and is primarily dedicated to Sierra Leone’s Fourth Cycle Universal Periodic Review (UPR) before the United Nations Human Rights Council in Geneva, a significant milestone in the country’s commitment to promoting and protecting human rights.

The newsletter also highlights Sierra Leone’s active participation in key international engagements during the quarter, including the presentation of the country’s Fourth Cycle Human Rights Report at the UPR, the Minister of Health’s participation in the Global Financing Facility (GFF) Ministerial Network Meeting, and the Minister of Employment, Labour and Social Security’s engagement at the International Labour Conference (ILC).

Readers will also find updates on Ambassador Dr. Lansana Gberie’s diplomatic engagements, including multilateral activities at the World Health Assembly (WHA), the Universal Periodic Review, and bilateral and multilateral collaborations with international partners. In addition, this edition features highlights from the Administrative General’s participation at the International Law and Human Rights (ILH) Forum in Geneva, the Deputy Ambassador’s intervention at the Champions Children’s Rights to Education Forum, and the strengthening of ties between the Mission and the Sierra Leone Swiss Community.

We trust you will find this edition informative, insightful, and reflective of Sierra Leone’s growing engagement within the multilateral system in Geneva.
